He is survived by: his wife Helen Payne; his children, Heather Dockery and Brandon Payne (Dana); his siblings, Connie Payne, John Payne, Elsie Galloway (Bernard), Joe Payne (Joyce), Carl Payne, Sheila Mattingly (Bill) and Tony Payne (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Breanna Dockery, Alyssa Dockery, Brody Payne and Katelyn Payne; and his great grandchild Violette Dockery.
