She was predeceased by: her husband Edwin Hancock; her parents, Charles Nelson and Hilda Nelson; and her brother Gerald Nelson. She is survived by: her sons, Charles Hancock and David Hancock; and her grandson Zachary Thompson. She is also survived by three great-granddaughters.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
