He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Powell and Mary Powell (Hawes); and his siblings, Dorthy Cathey, Martha "Tootie" Turner, James Powell, Jack Powell and Terry Powell.
He is survived by: his children, Teri Shade (Mark Henson) of Benton, Aimee Young (Kenny) of Calvert City, Mark Powell (Angel) of Morganfield and Michael Powell (Rebecca) of Reidsville; and his siblings, Shirley Orr of Paducah, Kentucky, Alice Brown of Paducah, Kentucky, Larry Powell and Wayne Powell of Paducah. He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren.
