She was predeceased by: her parents, Sam Wilson and Lucy Hardin Wilson; her husband Donald "Buddy" McDowell; her daughter Diana Key; and her siblings, Lola Carter, Mamie Neize, Lillian Kennedy, Michael Wilson, Oscar Wilson and Woodrow Wilson.

She is survived by: her children, Melinda Thomason of Smithland, KY, Don McDowell of Terlingua, TX, Allan McDowell of Eddyville, KY and Michael McDowell of Wheatcroft, KY. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.
