He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Byron Hankins of Burna, Kentucky. and Emma Lou Lester of Burna, Kentucky.; his wife Wanda; his siblings, Dorris Gilbert, Frances Sue Dowdy and Sherman Hankins; and his stepson Ricky Gore of Paducah, Kentucky..

He is survived by: his children, Deena (Todd) of Paducah, Kentucky and Brian (Kerry) of Metropolis, Illinois; his stepdaughter Teresa Deweese (Al) of Dothan, Alabama; and his grandchildren, Hailey Laxton of Paducah, Charles Beach of Lexington and Karly Hankins of Paducah, Kentucky. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Lindsey Funeral Home (226 N 4th St, Paducah, KY 42001). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
