He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Augusta and Hazel Jane Bechtold; his former wife Linda Lou Bechtold; his stepfather Grant Herzog; and his sister Sherion Herzog Faughn.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Kettler Bechtold of Paducah; his children, Charles L. Bechtold (Polly) of Paducah, Michael W. Bechtold of Paducah and Kathy L. Bechtold of Paducah; his stepchildren, Ricky L Thompson (Wanda) and Robyn L Hoxworth (Randy); his sisters, Hazel Bechtold Moyers Spears (Leon) and Velma Bechtold Walker; his grandchildren, Adam Bechtold, Cody Bechtold (Michal), Travis Bechtold, Dean Bechtold and Ashlyn Bechtold Love (Michael); his great grandchildren, Easton, Adalyn and Cooper; Carlee Hoxworth Blanton (Jimmy). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
