He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius "Jack" Young and Minnie Dove Reeves Young; his wife Edie Powers Young; his son Don Brent Young; his siblings, J. D. Young, Jerry Dan Young, Vanietta Null and Gladys Marie Davenport; and his granddaughter Rachael Elizabeth Young.
He is survived by: his son Scott Young (Zina) of Paducah; his grandchildren, Amanda Poitras (Brian) of Bowling Green, Alexander Young of Paducah, Jacob Young (Laken) of Paducah and Clayton Young (Bridget) of Paducah; and his brother-in-law DeWayne Powers of South Fork, Colorado. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
