He is survived by: his mother Virginia Kathryn Collier Dowdy; his son Benjamin Sanderson; and his siblings, Phyllis Futrell (Ricky), Pamela Ellis (Carl) and Craig Sanderson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
