He was predeceased by: his parents, Eddie William Adams and Lois Peeler Adams; and his brother Rev. Thomas Adams. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Adams; his children, Donald Adams (Cindy), Diane Strong (Zack), Dale Adams (Cindy) and Denise Phillips (Charlie); his nephew Jimmy Adams (Dana); and his niece Janna McCracken (David).
