He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joyce Hammond O'Daniel; his children, Janice O'Daniel Ransom (Steve) of Chicago, IL, Michael O'Daniel and Tom O'Daniel of Cadiz, KY; his grandchildren, Amanda Hahn (Randy), Clystal Null (John), Mark Ransom, Tera McDonald (Pat), Ethan O'Daniel (Christine), T. J. O'Daniel (Brianna), Katey Black (Landan) and Christina Rohrer (Caleb); his great grandchildren, Destiny Hahn, Austin Hahn, Lucas Hahn, Declan McDonald, Colin McDonald, Karleigh Moore, Lindsey O'Daniel, Paisley O'Daniel and Max O'Daniel; his siblings, Barbara Roof of Paducah and Lawrence O'Daniel of Locust Grove, VA; his parents, Henry O'Daniel and Fannie Champion O'Daniel; and his siblings, Virginia Roberts, Larry O'Daniel of Vernon O'Daniel, J. W, Orville O'Daniel and Robert O'Daniel. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
