He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Humphrey and Effie Humphrey; his stepmother Nana Humphrey; and his siblings, Elizabeth Koerner, Marie Finney, Jim Humphrey, Merlin Humphrey, Hubert Humphrey, Conn Lynn Humphrey and Hyatt Humphrey.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Harrison Humphrey of Kevil, Kentucky; his children, Marsha Davis (Earl Whayne) of Kevil, Melissa Matthews (David) of Wright City, Kendra Cunningham (Howard) of Kevil and Joe Humphrey (Megan) of Iowa Falls, Iowa; his grandchildren, Seth Cunningham (Nikki), Kaitlyne Metsker (Ben), Tyler Davis (Jerica), Kevyn Dunker (Luke), Allen Matthews, Ayden Humphrey and Garrett Humphrey; his great grandchildren, Reese Dunker, Nora Davis, Whayne Metsker, Eliza Davis, Silas Dunker, Leah Cunningham, Samuel Cunningham, Krislynn Metsker, Maggie Metsker and Ada Davis; and his sisters, Annette Ramage (Richard) of Michigan and Sue Hall of North Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The 1999 State 4-H Horse Show was dedicated to Herman "Junior" and Jane Humphrey for their outstanding support and contributions to this program.
