She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Gaines and Margaret Gaines; her siblings, Henry "Sonny" Gaines and Jean Campbell; and her niece Amber Gaines.

She is survived by: her husband James Duffer; her children, Steve Ellis and Peggy Denkins (Kip); her stepdaughters, Mary Padron, Carol Duffer and Pam Duffer; her siblings, Frank "Bud" Gaines, Roger Gaines (Shirley), Gloria Rohan and Doug Gaines (Barb); her grandchildren, Robbie Ellis, Heather Ellis, Whitney Ward (Thomas) and Rachel McCoart (James); and her great grandchildren, Bryer Ellis, Clara Jenkins, Parker Jenkins, Nathan Jenkins, Ava Ward and Zachary Ward. She is also survived by animals, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
