It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Owen Slusmeyer of Paducah, Kentucky, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Herman Slusmeyer and Ruby Elizabeth McClanahan Slusmeyer; and his son James "Woody" Slusmeyer. He is survived by : his wife Virginia Childress Slusmeyer; his children, Tammy Blackburn (Kevin) of Paducah, Kentucky and Jeff Slusmeyer of Paducah, Kentucky; his sister Sherron Anne Alexander of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; his grandchildren, Brian Slusmeyer (Krystie), Christy Nease, Nicole Overby (Jeff), Rachel Dunsford (Eric) and Abby Penrod (Aaron); and his great grandchildren, Corey, Cheyenne (John), Drake, Cayden, Owen, Aubrey, Sonya, Bentley and Bailey.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah (120 Memorial Dr, Paducah, KY 42001). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
