He was predeceased by: his parents, W. R. Tyler and Lucy Lambert Tyler; his son James Merlin Tyler; and his sister Dottie Ivey. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Mattingly Tyler of Paducah; his children, Andrea Preston (Bob) of Cumming, Georgia and Jeff Tyler (Nancy) of Wilmington; his siblings, Bettie Ferguson of Arlington, Helen Hocker (Philip) of Arlington, Robert Tyler (Sylvia) of Kevil, Ralph Tyler of Arlington and Kenneth Tyler of Arlington; his grandchildren, Chad Tyler, Morganne Turberville and Evan Preston; and his great grandchildren, Grayson and Miles Turberville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
