As Jerry departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Jerry may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Jerry leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval Dassing and Katherine Dassing (Diane Dassing). He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer LaGore (Brian); his grandchildren, Lizzie Colles (Patrick), Tony Pina (Amber) and Michael Thompson; his great grandchild Desi Colles; his brother Raymond Dassing (Marilyn); and his stepbrother David Davits. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Loftus-McManus Brookport Funeral Home (7742 S US 45 Rd, Brookport, IL 62910). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
