He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles S. McMurtry and Clanthe Sue Stamper McMurtry; his son Ryan Todd McMurtry; and his half-brother Harry Ray Porter. He is survived by: his wife Iva McMurtry of Paducah, Kentucky; his children, Valerie Lynn Farmer (Timothy) of Gilbertsville, Melissa Eichorst of Glasgow, Paizley Blake of Paducah, Kentucky and Kevin Golden (Sherry) of Glasgow, Kentucky; his siblings, Donna Kay Kroener (Daniel) of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Ronald Lynn McMurtry (Nancy) of Mayfield, Kentucky; and his half-sister Clanthe Akers of Mount Sterling, Kentucky. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
