He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jo Parrish Spears; his parents, Melvin Curtis Spears and Eula Stanford Spears; and his daughter Jennifer. He is survived by: his children, Julie Austin of Florida, P. A., Wilton of Ohio and Amy Spears Hughes (Jimmy) of Hickory; his sister Decie Spears Jones of Texas; and his grandson Aaron Austin of Florida.
