She is survived by: her children, Sherry Byrd (Dwayne) of Paducah, Julie McGowan of Paducah and Bob McGowan (Missy) of Paducah; her grandchildren, Leigh Ann Woods (Marquise), Jordan Byrd (Jessika), Kevin McGowan (Karen), Cameron Byrd (Candice), Chandler McGowan and Andrea Freadreacea (Brad); her great grandchildren, Olivia Woods, Brayden Woods, Lily Byrd, Lucy Byrd, Jacob Byrd, Kyleigh McGowan, Natron Rhodes, Jozalynn Rhodes, Emma Freadreacea, Matti Gratz and Laila Wuestefeld; her brother Mike Hooker (Jody) of Paducah; her extended family, Kay Smith and Greg Anderson; and her caregiver Kelly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah (120 Memorial Dr, Paducah, KY 42001). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kay's honor to Lovelaceville Missionary Baptist Church, 253 North Broadway, Lovelaceville, KY 42060.
