He was predeceased by: his parents, Bud Heady and Angie Meriweather Heady; his wife Mary Nell Heady; his mother-in-law Barnell McCauley; and his siblings, Perlene Stone Davidson and John C. Heady.
He is survived by: his caregivers, Debbie Keeton, Pat Parrish, Tammy Castleman, Martha Woodcock and Case Worker; his son Don Heady (Alice) of Lansing, Michigan; his brother Owen Heady (O. D.) of Paducah; his grandchildren, Starice Heady-Hudson (Willie), Shalae Heady, Eaness Ahmad Jr., Dondre Heady and Alicea Heady; his great grandchildren, Je'Jean Davis, Don'Dreyce Heady and Da'Moni Heady; and his great great grandchild Jaraiyah Davis.
