With sadness, we share the passing of Peggy Joyce Nelson of Paducah, Kentucky. Peggy, born on October 23, 1930 in Paris, Tennessee, passed away on June 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Morris "Red" Nelson; her son Don Nelson; her mother Johnnie Shankle; and her siblings, Robert Shankle, J. P. Shankle, James Shankle, Virginia Gordon, Meredith Harris and Lillian Amos.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Nelson (Peggy Lynn) of Paducah and Linda Belcher (Dennis) of Paducah; her daughter-in-law Patricia Nelson of Surprise, AZ; and her nieces and nephews, Randy Shankle (Jayne) of Paducah, Phil Shankle of Paducah, Sharon Mitchell (Nathan) and Paula Theilman. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
