He was predeceased by: his daughter Elizabeth Chase; and his parents, Ralph Sherman Chase and Velma Steele Chase. He is survived by: his daughter Sarah Chase Whitty (Arra Whitty); his grandchildren, Henry of Louisville, Kentucky. and Chase Whitty of Louisville, Kentucky.; his former wife Rebecca Long Chase; his niece Carrie Burchett; his nephew John Chase (Bethany Chase); his great-nephew Donovan; his former wife Michele Wells Chase; Stan Chase (Anne), Benjamin (Melissa) of Sumter, Joshua (Carrie) of West Frankfort, Illinois and Sarah McMurtry Yancy (Joshua) of Paducah. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren.
