He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Yates and Marcella Suthard Yates; and his siblings, Judy Hines, John Yates, Ken Yates and Tony Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Cathy Sasseen Yates of Paducah, Kentucky; his sons, Christopher Yates of Paducah and Sam Yates of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Khalessi and Ruby Yates of Paducah; and his siblings, Anita Neville (Joe) of Paducah, Louise Britt (David) of Jensen Beach, Kathy Bagwell (Ray) of Paducah, Bob of Paducah and David Yates of Paducah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah (120 Memorial Dr, Paducah, KY 42001).
