He is survived by: his wife Glenda Newton of Paducah; his son Richard Newton II (Lisa) of Pinehurst, NC; his brother Steve Newton (Kathy) of Paducah; and his grandchildren, Joshua Newton, Caleb Newton (Ana) and Anna Marie Justice. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
