He is survived by: his children, Shannon Garrett (Rodney) of Nashville, Tennessee, Samuel Burgess IV of Calvert City, Kentucky and Valerie Taylor of Paducah, Kentucky; his grandson Matthew Taylor; his siblings, Richard Burgess (Ellen) of Tulsa, Oklahoma., Mary Barcomb and Susan Reed; Stephanie, Valerie, Carmen and Tanea.
