He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Jess and Rachel Chance Edds; his siblings, Dr. Joseph Edds, Mary Elizabeth Edds Jennings and Jesse Edds; and his stepgranddaughter Kenedy Ellegood.

He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Hayden Edds; his children, Nancy Edds Severns, Joseph Edds of Reidland, KY, Ann Edds Wurth (William) of Symsonia, KY and Kathryn Edds of Nashville, TN.; his grandsons, Aaron Severns of Reidland, KY and Cody Edds of Knoxville, TN.; his nieces, Mary Edds, Barbara Edds, Rachel Jennings, Virginia Jennings Debord and Rebecca Jennings Mantooth; his stepchildren, Phillip Ellegood (Tiffany) of Calvert City, KY and Carole Ellegood Shelby (Darren) of Melber, KY; his stepgrandchildren, Taylor Parrish (Christian) of Wingo, KY, Trent Shelby of St. Louis, MO, Raegen Shelton (Evan) of Hickory, KY, Grace Ellegood of Louisville, KY, Sydney Ellegood of Calvert City, KY and Emma Ellegood of Calvert City, KY; and his stepgreat-granddaughter Ava Rose Shelton.
