He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Bates and Joan Bates; and his sister Lorie Adam. He is survived by: his wife Renikka Bates of Paducah; his children, Samantha Cessna (Adrian), Hunter Albin and Michael Stewart; his grandchildren, Zarek Barnard, Finley Barnard and Caiden Stewart; and his sister Janet Krebs.
