He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Dowell and Ruth Edwards Dowell; his son Mark Dowell; his parents-in-law, Margaret and Thomas Jones; and his brother-in-law Aubrey Lippert.
He is survived by: his wife Gracie Bell Jones Dowell; his daughter Teresa Clinard (Butch) of Kevil, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Alli Swinford (Alec), Emma Clinard (Devon Evans) and Lilli Scillion (Dakota); his great grandchildren, Boone and Wyatt Swinford; his pet Clark; his daughter-in-law Rita Pierce (Jay) of West Paducah; his sisters, Pat Holland (David) of Louisville and Brenda Stigall (Randy) of Hebron, Kentucky; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Lippert of Paducah and Terry Jones (Brenda) of Kevil. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
