He is survived by: his wife Brenda Little Compton; his daughter Tamra Carroll (Zach) of Paintsville, Kentucky; his siblings, Elbert Compton of Prestonsburg, Amon Compton (Shirley) of Banner, Wayne Compton of Prestonsburg, Clay Compton of Prestonsburg, Bill Jack Compton (Geneva) of Prestonsburg, Kentucky and Sally Hall (James) of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; and his grandsons, Carson Carroll and Lucas Carroll.
Visitation was held on Monday, May 25th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday, May 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home - Prestonsburg (234 S Lake Dr, Prestonsburg, KY 41653). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Compton Cemetery.
