She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Shanks and Sadie Griffieth Shanks; her son Henry Clay Owen, III; and her siblings, William Shanks, James Shanks, Emily Jefferson and Sadie Lee.
She is survived by: her husband Henry Clay Owen; her daughters, Mona Lisa Owen and Callie Renfro Owen (Bill Nguyen); her grandchildren, Alissa Tobin, Jenny Tobin, Austin Owen, Sawyer Dale, Will Owen-Nguyen, Katie Owen-Nguyen and Caitlin Tobin; and her siblings, Rose Mary Reffett and Leonard Shanks. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home (526 Pleasant St, Paris, KY 40361). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Paris First Methodist Church (617 Pleasant St, Paris, KY 40361).
In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial donations to Sanders-Brown Center on Aging, University of Kentucky, 800 South Limestone, Lexington, KY 40536.
