We announce the death of Clayton Lee Rankin of Paris, Kentucky, who passed away on July 16, 2026, at the age of 79. Clayton will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Henry Rankin, Sr. and Elizabeth Crooks Duncan; his stepson Troy Crutcher; and his siblings, Douglas Duncan, Leroy Henson, Robert Henson, David Crooks, John Henry "Pepper Dick" Rankin, Jr., Doralitta Tyler, Patricia Ann Rankin and Bertha Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothea Y. Jackson Rankin; his children, Tanya Whitson, Ortega Crutcher, Tasha Crutcher, Christian Rankin, Cole Lee Rankin and Shanta Rankin; his grandchildren, Devon, Skylar, Karter, Kyla, Kierra, Kyan, Kingston, Annabelle and Deshawn; his stepgrandchildren, Tamera, Isaiah and Camry; his siblings, Charlotte Smith, Janice Ladson (Melvin), Tonya Munday, Teresa Henson, Delcarlos Duncan (Carmella) and Kim Duncan (Lisa); and his aunts, Shirley Crooks, Brenda Hart and Patricia Crooks. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
