He was predeceased by: his parent Lee J. Russell; and his grandparents, Ewell, Roxie Wright, Clarence and Anna Russell.

He is survived by: his mother Patsy Wright Russell of Salt Lick, KY; his wife Tammy Tyree Russell; his sister Kathy Russell Richardson (Buddy); his niece Christie Richardson Lawson (T. J.); and his great-nephews, Dylan, Ethan and Owen Ferrell.
