He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther McCarty and Anna Dora Pettit McCarty; his son John McCarty; and his siblings, Charles McCarty, Kenneth McCarty, Jim McCarty, Nancy Boaz and Ruby Boyd.
He is survived by: his daughter Karen Donovan (Dan); his granddaughters, Danielle Watts (Michael), Karley Boggs (Brandon) and Katelyn Jordan (Noah); his great grandchildren, Reese Watts, Beau Watts, Colton Boggs and Baylee Boggs; and his brothers, Bobby McCarty and Donnie McCarty (Pam). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
