With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Edward Harris Jr. of Pewee Valley, Kentucky, who passed away on April 19, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Harris, Sr. and Anna Catherine Hinkle Harris. He is survived by: his children, James Edward Harris III (Dorothy) and Connie P. Harris; his sister Addie Ritchie; and his children, Anna Sanders, Archie Ritchie and Rodger Ritchie. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law; and a host of devoted friends and family.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (7104 Old Floydsburg Rd, Pewee Valley, KY 40056). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Honored as a Kentucky Colonel, he took great pride in both his heritage and contributions to the community.
