It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Joyce Akers of Pikeville, Kentucky, who passed away on August 14, 2022, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hatler Collins and Mirl Pugh Collins; and her husband Rickie Akers. She is survived by: her daughters, Christie Boyd (Bobby) of Pikeville, Kentucky and Melanie Dials (Shawn) of Pikeville, Kentucky; her sister-in-law Cathy Akers of Rochester; her grandchildren, Dustin Boyd (Leeann) of Pikeville, Brittni Collins (Eddie) of Pikeville, Cody Dials (Keesha) of Pikeville and Haley Dials of Pikeville; and her great grandchildren, Dawson Chapman, Lynlee Boyd, Lacie Boyd and Derick Hightower.
