He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Varney and Vesta Curry Varney; his children, Anthony Varney and Vestina Anderson; and his sisters, Barbara Ann Varney Slone, Demmedo Lemaster and Imogene Monday.
He is survived by: his former wives, Lola Mae and Catherine; his children, Steven Varney (Candy) of Canada, KY and Amanda Hamilton (Brandon) of Phyllis, KY; and his siblings, Melvin Varney of Phyllis, KY, Freddie Varney of Kimper, KY, Darrell R Varney of Kimper, KY, Faye Stiltner and Ilene Phillips of Louisville, KY. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Community Funeral Home (4902 Zebulon Hwy, Raccoon, KY 41501). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
