He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Howell and Barb Luster Howell; his wife Mella Bentley Howell; and his brothers, Bill Howell, James Howell, Robert Howell, Jake Howell, Kyle Howell and Tommy Howell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Carol (Paul Dean Justice) of Pikeville, Evaladean (late Leon Smith) of Pine Bluff and Betty (Bob Cannon) of Lowell; his grandchildren, Jeff Smith (Robbye), Todd Smith (Jenny), Melissa Cummins (Jeff), Paul Anthony Justice (Cabrini), Kim Justice and Robyn Marques (Rob); and also Paul Allen Howell of Ezel, Kentucky.. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren.
