With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Eugene Welch Davis of Pikeville, Kentucky, born in Millstone, Kentucky, who passed away on December 29, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wheeler Davis and Isabelle Johnson Davis; his wife Billie Sue York Davis; his siblings, Col. Joseph Wheeler Davis Jr., Roger Herman Davis, Minnie Lee Flint and Francis Bolen; and his great grandchild Willow Ann Davis.
He is survived by: his children, Charles Foster "Frosty" Davis (Melissa) of Pikeville, Eugenia Sue Davis Branham (Don Paul) of Pikeville and Laura Mesta Davis Scalf (Stan) of Georgetown, Kentucky.; and his grandchildren, Thomas Scalf, Jonathan Scalf, Laura Catharine "Kitty" Walters, Bethany Hope Smith, Don Paul Branham II, Eugene Welch Davis II, Charles Foster Davis II and Kayla Stiltner.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made in Gene's name to the Pikeville Independent Schools, 148 2nd St., Pikeville, Kentucky 41501.
