He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Thacker-Thacker and Reddie Thacker-Thacker; his wife Mary Dixie Thacker; his children, Teresa Case, Billy Lee Thacker, Danny Gene Thacker and Jimmy Thacker; and his siblings, Tom Ferrell Thacker, Don Thacker, Phillip Thacker, Alvie G. Thacker, Mary Lee Chaney, Tilda Thacker, Linda Alley, Didema Thacker and Nancy Jane Thacker.
He is survived by: his sons, John Thacker (Greta), Thanel Thacker (Linda), Ricky Thacker (Norma Jean), Gary Thacker and Bobby Thacker; his daughter-in-law Diana Thacker; his grandchildren, Jason Thacker (Tiffany), Matthew Thacker (Shone), Lucinda Thacker (Marie), Ella Thacker (Josephine) and Larry Dotson (Angie); and his great grandchildren, Jayleigh Thacker, Bentley Thacker and Abel Dotson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Lucas and Son Funeral Home (2931 US-23, Pikeville, KY 41501). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
