He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Lowe Friend; his sister Jennifer L.; his nieces and nephews, Noah R. Friend, John Friend, Chris Altman, Tracy Lowe, Jim Altman, Steve Spurlock, Andy Swanston, Shelby Friend Sears, Rachel Spurlock Baker and Ashley Altman Crossett; and his close friends, James Akers and Bert Hatfield.
