We announce the death of Russell Johnson (Pikeville, Kentucky), who passed away on July 30, 2026, at the age of 74. Russell will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Morgan Johnson and Tilitha Tackett Johnson; his wife Beverly Elswick Johnson; his daughter Sabrina Johnson; and his sister Nellie Berniece Tackett.
He is survived by: his children, Keith Johnson (Tammy) of Virgie and Hope Coleman (Bub) of Fords Branch; his sisters, Phyllis Elswick of Marion, OH and Geneva Branham of Pikeville; and his grandchildren, Katie Shewmake, Andrew Wayne Coleman, Colton Johnson, Kaleb Johnson, Brittany Meek, Breauna Sparks, Josh Sparks and Jaiden Sparks. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
