He was predeceased by: his parents, John Talmadge Maynard and Minnie Maynard (Varney); his former wife Lottie "Keene" Maynard; his son Barry Maynard; and his siblings, JT, Joseph Harmon, Layton, Mackadoo "Mack", Franklin, Claude Maynard, Hattie Marie Collins, Marlene Costa, Georgia Muncy and Ibba Jean Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Bertha McCoy Maynard; his son Billy Maynard (Patty Sue) of Salyersville, KY; his stepchildren, Greg Blackburn (Rebecca) of Pineville, KY, Raleigh "Pete" Blackburn (Bonnie) of Varney, KY and Diana Lowe (Daryl) of Varney, KY; and his siblings, Peggy Wolf of Port Huron and Bob Maynard of Michigan. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven step grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and ten step great grandchildren.
