He was predeceased by: his father Joe Sawyer. He is survived by: his mother Betty Sawyer (Strunk) of Whitley City; his significant other Linda Cook of Pine Knot; his children, Rachel Kaye Sawyer of Jacksonville, Paul Sziber (Tiffany) of Strunk and Ashley Gabbard (Dave) of Parkers Lake; his grandchildren, Indi Sawyer, RiaLin Sziber, Jeremiah Laxton, Destiny Laxton and Tiha Sziber; his sisters, Diane Temple of Morristown and Peggy McCartty (Philip) of Somerset, Kentucky; his nephew Nathan Temple; and his brothers, Kevin Childers, Mike Slaven and Dave Howe.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Knot Funeral Home (140 Cal Hill Spur, Pine Knot, KY 42635).
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to assist with remaining funeral expenses. Anyone wishing to do so may make a donation online, by calling in, or in person at our office.
