He is survived by: his girlfriend Georgia "Georgie" Watson; his children, Shannon Dewayne Garland and Connie Whitaker (John); his stepchildren, Cindy Ross (Larry) and Richard McGilton (Jenny); his siblings, Aileen Leonard and Edward "Red" Garland (Judy); and his daughter-in-law Rebecca "Becky" Howard. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Pine Knot Funeral Home (140 Cal Hill Spur, Pine Knot, KY 42635). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
