He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Woods and Myrtle Woods; his wife Vivian Lewis Woods; his siblings, Eula Helton, Maxine McGaffee, Mary Latiff, Dr. Virgil Woods, Clyde Woods and Carl Woods; and his son-in-law Dr. Joe Kennedy III.
He is survived by: his children, Clayton Woods (Moira), Gary Woods (Helena) and Jana Woods Kennedy; his grandchildren, Amanda Woods (Matthew Peterson), Christopher Woods (Mandy), Katherine Woods (MJ White), Sarah Saah (Jonathan) and Joseph Kennedy IV; his stepgrandchildren, Kelly Potter and Colin Bakewell; and his great grandchildren, Maddie Woods, Drayden Woods and Eleonora Saah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Pineville.
