He was predeceased by: his parents, John Benjamin Hale and Evelyn Crace Hale Hurley; his stepfather Oliver Jack Hurley; his brother Clifford D. "Mousie" Hale (Anita); his sister-in-law Mattie Roberts; and his parents-in-law, Sampson Baker and Ieda Breeding Baker.
He is survived by: his significant other Bonnie Jean Baker Hale; his children, Tonia Jane Hale Goyal (Jay) and John Gavin Hale (Sarah); his grandsons, Bheem Sampson Goyal and Arjun Hale Goyal; and his brother John Thomas Hale (Marlene). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
