James Kinzer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on July 24, 2025, at the age of 97, James Kinzer of Prestonsburg, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Kinzer and Rosa Kinzer (King); his wife Lucy Marie Miller; his sons, Willard Jr., Larry and Gary; and his siblings, Nellie Lafferty and Jerome Kinzer.
He is survived by: his sons, Terry Gene Kinzer (E. Lee) and Jerry Dean Kinzer (Debbie); his grandchildren, Suzanne Kinzer Hyden, Jeri Lynn Kinzer Copley (Morris), James Brandon Kinzer (Moriah) and Teri Lee Kinzer Crum (Barry); his great grandchildren, Bayley (Seth), Kylie, Ashton (Tate), Laiken, Noah, Barrett, Will, Baron and Kinzer Elizabeth; his great great grandchild Lucy; his brother Raymond Kinzer; his friend Jimmy Ray Key; and also, Margaret Holbrook, Helen Akers, Pam Akers, Ruby Moore and Tealie Prater. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Christ United Methodist Church (105 Methodist Ln., Allen, KY 41601). A burial was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at the Hall-Kinzer Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allen Christ United Methodist Church and/or the Mountain Arts Center.
