James L. Shepherd Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James L. Shepherd of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 23, 2026 at the age of 73. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Shepherd and Joseaylen Rowland Shepherd; his sons, Paul Sizemore Jr. and Michael Shepherd; and his brother Ronald Shepherd.
He is survived by: his wife Bessie Prater Shepherd; his son Thomas James Shepherd (Laurie); his grandchildren, Austyn Shepherd, Michael Shepherd and Sara Abigail Shepherd; his great grandchildren, Mila Elizabeth, Harrison Ellis and Delilah; and his sister-in-law Patricia Duddleson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 25th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home - Martin (7 Clinic Dr, Martin, KY 41649). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
