We bid farewell to Jean Wells of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, born in Hi Hat, Kentucky, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 24, 2024 at the age of 91. Jean touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by : her spouse Sammie E. Wells; and her parents, Wade Slone and Pinna Mae Meade Slone. She is survived by : her children, Sammie Wade Wells (Elizabeth) of Wilmington, NC, Douglas E. Wells (late Fran) of Cleveland, TN, Bernadine Isaac (late Babe) of Martin, KY and Belinda Amburgey (William) of Lexington, KY; her brother Meredith D. Slone (Genevee) of Hi Hat, KY; her sister-in-law Carla Slone of Jeremiah, KY; her grandchildren, Racheal Emily Greer (Jason), Sara Marie Hamilton (Eric), Laura-Jean Isaac and Joseph Hunter Wells; her great grandchildren, Madison Hamilton, Slade Hamilton, Kaydence Greer, Avery Greer and Tristan Greer; and her children-in-law, Fran Wells and Babe Issac.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the Hall Funeral Home (331 KY-122, Martin, KY 41649). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM and at 11:00 PM. A burial was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at the Newman Cemetery.
