It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marlon Merrick of Princeton, Kentucky, born in Madisonville, Kentucky, who passed away on September 8, 2025, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Marlon departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Marlon. Though Marlon may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Haile; his siblings, Judith Barnett and Wayne Barnett; and his father-in-law Virgil Cooper. He is survived by: his wife Linda Cooper Merrick of Princeton, KY; his daughters, Harleigh Merrick-Childers (Ryne) of Dawson Springs, KY and McKinzee Merrick of Princeton, KY; his stepson Justin Cooper (Megan) of Texas; and his half-sisters, Heather Futrell of Benton, KY and Mandy Merrick of Princeton, KY. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
