He was predeceased by: his parents, Ambrose Yates and Mary Yates; and his siblings, Celeste Eldridge, Kay Gilkey, June Mesaris, Dot Franklin, Betty Joe Yates, Joye Yates, Hylan Yates, Todd Yates, Louie Yates and Douglas Yates.
He is survived by: his wife Leora; his children, Kelly Yates of Kuttawa, Bobbie Ann Yates of Benton, Greg Yates of Marion and Jeff Yates (Debbie) of Princeton; and his granddaughter Amy Rodgers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Morgans Funeral Home (301 W Washington St, Princeton, KY 42445). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
